About transfer owners

A transfer owner is associated with each transfer:

  • In requester mode Transfer CFT initiates the connection, the transfer is assigned to the user which passes the command or to the user associated with the application which passes the command
  • In server mode Transfer CFT scans for connection requests, and in implicit transmission mode, the transfer is assigned to the user designated by the USERID parameter in the flow definition (user id in Central Governance transfer properties section) , or, by default, the user having activated the Transfer CFT
  • In server and reception mode, the transfer is assigned to the user designated by the USERID parameter in the flow definition (user id in Central Governance transfer properties section) , or by default, to the user having activated the Transfer CFT

Furthermore, you can configure Transfer CFT to enable authorization checks by activating the user control features, though this is not the default behavior. This allows Transfer CFT to check the authorization attributed to the user requesting the transfer, and in particular that the user is authorized to access the transfer file. You can additionally configure the operating system to act as the manager and check the access of the transfer file.

Refer to Manage user rights for details on implementing.
