How to use the Send file wizard

The Send file wizard enables you to use Copilot to send a file. The various file and message wizards are represented by icons found in the interface toolbar.

In the toolbar, click to start the Send file wizard. Complete the mandatory fields in the Send file wizard. You can then complete the transfer, or define additional parameters as explained below. Click:

  • Finish to complete the Send file process

After you click Finish in Wizard, processing begins. As long as Transfer CFT is running, a dialog box appears listing the current transfer details.

  • Next to access the Advance Settings tabs to define additional transfer parameters

Partner name. The associated value of this parameter can be an identifier or a mask.

idf

Model file identifier. Several catalog entries may be associated with a given idf.

Additional optional parameters

ipart

Intermediate partner local identifier.

fname

Name of the local file, directory, indirection file, selection mask or selection directory to be sent.
nfname Name of the physical file at the receiver partner site.
suser Can be provided directly or through an external flat file.
spasswd Identifier of the file sender.
ruser Identifier of a file receiver user.
rpasswd Can be provided directly or through an external flat file.
parm User message sent to the partner with the file transfer.

Send file advanced settings

Use the Advanced Setting tabs to further define the message transfer parameters:

  1. Complete the mandatory fields in the Send file wizard window, and click Next. The Send file wizard (2) window is displayed.
  2. Enter advance setting parameters. For parameter details see the tables below.
  3. Click Finish to complete the process.

A pop-up box confirms the request and prompts you to either quit the Wizard or continue with another request.

Local file characteristics

You can define the following parameters relating to file reception, such as the file name or size, in the Local file tab.

Scheduling

You can define the following parameters relating to the timing of a transfer in the Scheduling tab.  Parameters include the time and date, as well as the recurrence of the message transfer. The scheduling task is divided into two categories:

Protocol file

The Network file tab sets the network requirements for the file transfer. You can define the parameters in the Network file tab as listed below.
