Managing catalog filters

The catalog tool lists all transfer details that have occurred on the selected Transfer CFT. The Transfer CFT GUI displays these transfer details in the right pane window of the screen display. You can customize the Catalog so that it displays the catalog information according to a variety of predefined transfer details.

You can perform the following actions in the Catalog:

  • Filter the Catalog to display transfers as follows:
  • Select all States
  • Selects the inverse of currently selected States
  • Select No States
  • Compare selected transfers
  • Act on transfers
  • Select an immediate refresh for the catalog
  • Define the delay time for an automatic refresh
  • Clone a transfer
  • Launch the Transfer command wizard to perform a transfer

To display all catalog entries, select Monitoring in the left pane, and double click the Closed folder Catalog filters folder.

Catalog window features

The following section describes basic catalog window features. Double-click to open an existing filter, or right-click and select Add... to creat a new filter.

Column management

Click the add columns icon to select or delete columns from the active object tab. Use the and arrows to move the selected columns from the Available Columns table to the Chosen Columns table.

Clicking on double arrow icons moves all columns to the other table. To select several column types, press and hold the Shift key while selecting columns.

Catalog color coding

In the open Catalog window, the file transfers are color coded to make it easier to locate files according to transfer state.

  • Red: the transfer was stopped or incomplete
  • Green: the transfer was successfully completed
  • Black: the transfer is available
  • Brown: refer to Sentinel

Using catalog menu functions

This topic describes the functions available in the contextual catalog menu.

Once you have accessed the catalog, you can execute several transfer commands using the contextual menu. Right click in the Catalog window to display the contextual menu which is schematically shown here.

  • Activation of partner in requester mode only

  • Deactivation of partner

Cloning a transfer

Cloning a transfer enables you to quickly repeat a transfer without having to re-enter the transfer parameter values. If you do not modify any of the parameters, the cloned transfer appears as a duplicate of the original transfer.

To clone an existing transfer, in the left pane window expand the tree structure and click on Monitoring. Right click the Catalog filter node and select All.

In the right pane the catalog window is displayed. Click to select the transfer that you want to repeat.

Right click to display the contextual menu and select Clone. The Transfer command Wizard dialog box is displayed. Follow the Transfer commands wizard instructions to complete the transfer process.

Displaying transfer details

The Catalog lists the transfers in the right pane window. To display all transfer details, select the double click on the transfer name. Alternately, you can select the transfer and click on the transfer details icon. The IDTU Transfer properties tab is displayed. The transfer details are displayed in a series of tabs. The information includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • General
  • Messages (only for message transfers)
  • Diagnostics
  • Scheduling
  • Part (partner)
  • Local file
  • Protocol
  • SSL
  • Network
  • Statistics

Comparing transfers

Copilot for Transfer CFT allows you to select and compare catalog transfers. Additionally, you can compare records can be done according to predefined criteria. To compare two or more transfer records:

  1. In the left pane, click on the Catalog filter object. Left click All in the contextual menu. The CAT OBJECT window is displayed in the right pane work area.
  2. Click to select the first transfer to be compared. Press <CTRL> and hold while clicking to select the second transfer to be used in the compare procedure.
  3. Click the compare transfers icon. The Compare two transfers window is displayed.

Differences between the two transfers are displayed in red. All information that is identical for both transfers is displayed in black. To simplify the display, click the Differences icon to display only differences.

Comparing two transfers

The compare transfers window lists the transfers in one of the two following formats:

  • All chosen transfer attributes
  • A list of only the differences between the two transfers

Using Catalog toolbar functions

The complete set of information in a file transfer is represented by an object defined in the Catalog window. In the Copilot interface, the transfer commands are represented by a series of buttons in the Catalog window toolbar. These transfer control commands can be used to:

  • Interrupt a transfer in process
  • Activate or reactivate a suspended or held transfer
  • Delete a transfer request
  • Submit, or resubmit, an end-of-transfer procedure (transfer in the T state)
  • Declare that the processing following a transfer is completed

Catalog Toolbar buttons

Use the buttons in the Catalog window toolbar to perform the following transfer commands from the Catalog:

Button Function Definitions

Halt

Stops one or all of the transfers to or from a given partner. This command causes a transfer interruption to be sent and a transition to RH or SH state in the catalog.

Keep

Suspends one or all of the transfers to of from a given partner. This command causes an abort to be sent and a transition to RK or SK state in the catalog.

Resume

Retrieves, in the server mode, a blocked send request having the hold status.

Start

Reactivates a transfer.

Submit

Submits an end-of-transfer procedure (transfer in the T state).

End

Declares transfers executed: the processing subsequent to the transfer terminated.

Add

Starts the Transfer Wizard.

Delete

Deletes one or all of the requests to transfer to or from a given partner.

Send reply inquiry

Automatically acknowledges any selected transfers
