Broadcasting lists - CFTDEST

This topic describes how to manage partner diffusion lists for the CFTDEST object.

Displaying the CFTDEST object list

To display the CFTDEST Distribution list:

  1. Click to expand the Ongoing Configuration folder in the left pane object manager.
  2. Right click Partner broadcast list and select List all objects from the drop-down menu. The CFTDEST list is displayed in the right pane.

Defining the CFTDEST object

To define the Distribution list tab:

  1. Click to expand the Ongoing Configuration folder in the left pane object manager.
  2. Right click Partner broadcast list, the Distribution List object.
  3. Select ADD. The CFTDEST window is displayed in the right pane.
  4. Complete the CFTDEST window.

Completing the CFTDEST window

The fields and components displayed in the CFTDEST window are schematically illustrated below. Complete the window and click OK to confirm.

Definition

exec

Defines the type of end of transfer procedure.

  • DEST(default value): the end-of-transfer procedure is submitted for the generic catalog entry when all transfers are terminated.
  • PART: The end-of-transfer procedure is submitted for each terminated transfer of the group of transfers and for the catalog generic entry when all transfers are terminated.
  • CHILDREN: The end-of-transfer procedure is submitted for each terminated transfer of the group of transfers, but not for the generic catalog entry.
execa

Defines the rules for acknowledgement procedure submission. •

  • DEST(default ): the acknowledgement procedure is submitted for the generic catalog entry when all transfers have received their acknowledgement. •
  • PART: The acknowledgement procedure is submitted for each terminated transfer of the group of transfers when the receive acknowledgement, then for the catalog generic entry when all transfers have received their acknowledgement.
  • CHILDREN: the acknowledgement procedure is submitted for each terminated transfer of the group of transfer but not on the generic catalog entry.

Defines the rules for preprocessing procedure submission.

  • DEST(default ): the preprocessing procedure is submitted for the generic catalog entry before generating the list of transfers.
  • PART: The preprocessing procedure is submitted for the catalog generic entry before generating the list of transfers, then for each terminated transfer of the group of transfers before the transfer.
  • CHILDREN: the preprocessing procedure is submitted for each terminated transfer of the group of transfer before the transfer but not on the generic catalog entry.

Select from:

  • BOTH (default ): on a local monitor with both LOCAL and COMMUT facilities.
  • COMMUT: on a local monitor that serves as an intermediate site. The monitor receives a file or a message whose identifier in the CFTDEST object is set to the recipient’s network name. It then broadcasts the file or message to all partners in the list.
  • LOCAL: on a local monitor to send (broadcast) or receive (collect) a file or a message.

id

Enter the identifier. The maximum number of characters is 32.

nopart

 

Do not complete this field if you completed the fname field.

From the drop-down list, select the action to perform when one of the partners is not defined:

  • abort (default)
  • continue: to display an information message and continue processing
  • ignore: continue processing with no information message

type

Select either:

  • fname: Enter the name of the file in which the authorized or inhibited users are defined.
  • part: The name of the partner. Use the to open the Search for a partner dialog box.
