Secure file message protocol

Secure file message protocol is an Axway-proprietary protocol that provides EDIINT packaging over transport protocols not supported by EDIINT AS1 / AS2 / AS3.

Secure file message protocol supports light-weight packaging for payload POST methods into the Interchange (for example, using curl).

Secure file message protocol supports transfers and failover restart for recovery from service interruptions.

If you are administrating WebTraders and want to enable large-file handling for your WebTrader end-users, you must enable a Secure file trading pickup on your WebTrader sponsor community. When secure file is enabled on the sponsor community, the sponsor's WebTrader partners use a dedicated applet to upload documents to the sponsor's server through the Secure file trading pickup.

The following transports support Secure file protocol:

  • HTTP
  • HTTPS
  • FTP
  • FTPS
  • SFTP
  • File system
  • MQSeries
  • JMS
  • Staged HTTP web servlet

Secure file message protocol pre-dates AS3, and is not the same as AS3. If you are using FTP and AS3 is available, we recommend using AS3. Moreover, if you and your partner both use Axway file-trading software, use AS2 rather than Secure file over HTTP.
