Define privileges via PassPort

To define privileges, you must:

Create a privilege

To create a new privilege in PassPort:

  1. In the PassPort User interface, select Access > Privileges.
  2. Click New privilege.
  3. Type a Name and optionally a Description.
    Accept the default selection of the Static check box.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select the:
  • AISDefault product from the drop-down list.
  • Resource from the drop-down list to associate it with the privilege.
  • Actions for the resource.
  1. Click Next.
  2. In the Privilege Condition Editor, set the conditions that must be verified to grant the privilege to the user.
    Conditions are expressed as <property> <operator> <value> where:
  • <property> is a PassPort system property or an InterPlay resource property.
  • <operator> is an operator that depends on the type of the selected property.
  • <value> is a static value or a group property value.
  1. Click Finish.
    The privilege is now created.

Assign a privilege to a role

To assign the privilege to a role:

  1. Select Access > Roles.
  2. Select the role.
  3. Add this privilege to the Selected Privileges list.

Example

As illustrated below, you can use a condition to create a privilege that enables a user to open an Editor with the :

  • Name DFA_GL_PIVOT and version 1
  • Category invoice

The condition can be validated via the textual representation that is generated automatically at every step of the creation of the condition.
