Enter global UI settings

The Global UI Settings object defines for the user interface the:

  • Folder organization
  • Toolbars
  • Custom actions
  • Predefined actions
  • Default property values for the fields
  • General parameters
  1. On the Details tab, enter the general UI parameters and the default field property values.
  2. On the Folders tab, add the folders you want to use to organize the Collection lists.
    A Folder is defined by:
    • A name, a collection source and icons
    • A list of filters
    • A list of columns
    • A list of actions
  3. On the Toolbar item tab, add the toolbar items.
    A toolbar item is defined by:
    • The toolbar the item is attached to
    • A type of item
    • The associated predefined or custom action
    • Shortcut information, if any
  4. On the Custom Action tab, add the custom actions you have implemented.
    A custom action is defined by:
    • A name that identifies the action
    • A description
    • An icon that is used in the toolbar and menu to represent the action
    • Conditions when the associated button is activated.
    • A choice to prompt the user to save his work before executing the action
    • A choice to prompt the user to confirm action execution
  5. On the Predefined Action tab, add the predefined actions that you want to customize.
    A predefined action is defined by:
    • A name that identifies the action
    • A description
    • An icon that is used in the toolbar and menu to represent the action
    • The scope of the action indicating if the action applies to collections, objects, elements or all.
    • Conditions when the associated button is activated.
