Modify the database connection

It is recommended that you set or modify the database connection via the Installer. You can however set the connection manually as follows:

  1. Open the INSTALL_DIR/interplay-web.xml file.
  2. Change the database connection parameters.

Example

<Resource name="jdbc/ApplicationDataSource" auth="Container"

type="javax.sql.DataSource"

driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"

url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//192.168.1.1:1521/INTERPLAY" username="INTERPLAY"

password="CV2rj4fL9rPfMKb1gfKhYA==" />

Note: If you want to modify the database password, you must use the Installer update tool or encrypt a password using the encryptPassword InterPlay script.

  1. Copy the new file into the <TomcatInstall>/contexts directory.
    The database connection is registered as well as a JNDI resource on the Web server in: “jdbc/ApplicationDataSource”.
  2. Update the ant-task.properties file:

DBHost=192.168.1.1

DBport=1521

DBUser=INTERPLAY

DBPwd=CV2rj4fL9rPfMKb1gfKhYA==

DBInstance=INTERPLAY

  1. Open the InterPlay component in Administration and go in Edit mode.
  2. Change the database connection parameters.

Example

User: INTERPLAY

Password: INTERPLAY

URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@//192.168.1.1:1521/INTERPLAY

Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver

JNDI Name: InterPlayDb

  1. Save the changes.
