Create data formatting exits

The data formatting exit is used to transform a value that is read by the import reader into a value that will be stored in InterPlay. At export time, the value can be transformed back to its original format. The Formatter interface is located in the com.axway.ais.formatter package.

For more information, refer to Formatter exit.

In Designer, you can specify a Formatting exit on a Property Type belonging to an Object Type.

A typical usage of these exits is for files that contain encoded data - for instance, a value in the file can be encoded with the EBCDIC algorithm but Interplay must use the decoded value (when modifying) and must encode it back when exporting.
