Mapping between Data and Edition models
The example provided here illustrates the mapping between the Data model and the Edition model.
A structured file that contains a list of accounting documents is imported into InterPlay. A Collection is created to store the content of the file. An Object is created for each accounting document of the list and an element is created for each line of the accounting document. The data associated with an accounting document or with a line is stored as a property value in Object and Element respectively.
When the accounting document collection is opened in the InterPlay user interface, a dedicated Collection Editor is selected and used to display the accounting document list. The user can drill down into the list to display each accounting document. An Object Editor is selected to display an accounting document. It is typically composed of a Form page and a Table page. The Form page contains fields that display the accounting document properties. The Table page contains a grid that list the accounting document lines. The user can drill down into the list of Line to display each Line of the selected accounting document.
