InterPlay architecture

Installing InterPlay requires installing several components:

  • DB: Use a database
  • WAR: provides as a Web application
  • UI: technology of the Client interface when provided

InterPlay Web Applications can be installed on the provided Tomcat Webserver or on an external Web server (Tomcat or Websphere). To satisfy your infrastructure constraints or for performance reasons, the Web Applications can be installed on different Web Servers.

InterPlay components use separate database schemas that can be installed on the same database or in different databases. Databases can be installed on the same machine as the InterPlay Web applications or on another machine.

The InterPlay user interface is based on Adobe Flex technology and requires Flash Player 10 or above to be installed on the client browser.

InterPlay components connect to other Axway products as shown in the above table: PassPort, ProcessManager.

Installation overview

Installation is done via the Installer.

It involves, in sequence, the:

  • Definition of an instance of a database and creation of tablespaces and user.
  • Installation of the configuration repository (Repository)
  • Installation of PassPortAM, ProcessManager and Sentinel if InterPlay must interoperate with them
  • Installation of InterPlay
  • Installation of the InterPlay Designer if necessary
  • Installation of the Report server
  • Installation of the Administration tool
  • Installation of AccountingIntegrator and / or any other component than can be required in the process
  • Definition of the link between InterPlay and InterPlay Designer in the Repository if necessary
  • Application of Service Packs and Patches if any
  • Addition of InterPlay users in PassPort
