Business unit transfer performance

This dashboard is dedicated to the delegated administrator in charge of the administration of a single or multiple business units.

It is intended to provide a tight monitoring of any abnormal situation occurring from the transfer performance perspective. It provides high level metrics that follow up the current day's new activity and failed transfers, and identify bottlenecks in term of transfer rates.

Key analytics

The left area provides the following three monitored metrics:

What Why
  • Activity today – Returns the count of new transfers of the day. Click this metric to drill down into the Transfer Search report with the list of new transfers.
  • Next to the counter, an evaluation flag based on the business unit activity warns you whenever an abnormal high/low volume occurs during the day.
This flag can be red, orange or grey if the corresponding evaluation is critical, warning or normal respectively.

Helps you monitor the activity in SecureTransport activity on the selected business unit. It also warns you in case of any abnormal volume activity that may indicate a risk of potential upcoming failures.

  • Protocols with transfer lags – Displays the number of protocols impacted by low transfer rates. Click this metric to drill down into the Protocol transfer rate performance dashboard.
  • This metric has an associated evaluation flag which is raised whenever the metric is greater than zero.
Warns you whenever some slow transfer rates occur.
  • Failures Like for the Global Transfer Performance cockpit, this metric returns the count of failed transfers today for the business unit. Click this metric to drill down into the Business Unit Failures Today dashboard.
  • The metric is associated to an evaluation flag that is turned red when the metric is greater than zero.
Is very important to monitor and troubleshoot occurring file transfers.

Analytics details

In the central area, the uppermost pagelet presents the current day's new activity on partner and internal accounts. A high/low volume evaluation also lets you oversee potential abnormal activity based on usual patterns.

The middle pagelet illustrates potential protocols impacted by slow transfers.Click a protocol to drill down into the Business unit transfer rate performance dashboard. The lowermost pagelet identifies the top 5 accounts with failures in the business unit.

Complementary analytics

In the right area are, you can find complementary metrics with the activity noticed on ST instances and accounts.

In the bottom of the dashboard, you have a shortcut to Global Accounts List report.

Business unit failures today dashboard

This is the drill-down dashboard accessible from within the failures metric of the Business Unit Transfer Performance cockpit. It provides the main metrics and charts related to the permanent failures occurring in the business unit today:

  • In the left area, the Failed transfers pagelet displays the overall count of permanent failures and failures rate.
  • In the middle area, the Top 5 accounts with failure pagelet displays the top 5 impacted accounts and protocols.
Tip: The failures events are charted along the day's timeline.
  • In the upper-right area, you can see the intraday activity and failures count, the failure internal/partner repartition and the top 5 impacted ST instances.
  • At the bottom of the dashboard, the list of permanent failures is displayed. Click a transfer filename to drill down into the Transfer Detail dashboard.

Account failures today dashboard

This is the drill-down dashboard accessible from the Top 5 accounts with failures pagelet  in the Business Unit Transfer Performance cockpit:

  • In the left area, the Failed transfers pagelet displays the overall count of permanent failures and failures rate. This is just like the global and business unit failures of the cockpit.
  • In the middle area, the Top 5 accounts with failure pagelet displays the top 5 impacted accounts and protocols.
  • In the upper-right area, you can see the intraday completed and failed transfers count.
  • At the bottom of the dashboard, the list of permanent failures is displayed. Click a transfer filename to drill down into the Transfer Detail dashboard.

Business Unit Transfer Rate Performance dashboard

This is the drill-down dashboard accessible from the Business Unit Transfer Performance cockpit. It monitors slow transfers rates for the given business unit and protocol.

In the left column, key metrics enable you to tightly follow up:

  • The status of the ongoing transfer rate and its value in KB/s
  • The lowest transfer rate and its status
  • The number of managed transfers

The transfer rate status indicates whether or not the speed of transfer is below a 5th percentile's based threshold.

In the main column:

  • The upper pagelet displays key metrics and charts the transfer rate activity during the day.
  • The bottom pagelet presents the transfer rates activity per account.

This is useful to easily identify potential impacted accounts when slowness is identified.

Protocol Transfer Rate Performance

This is the drill-down report accessible from the Business Unit Transfer Performance cockpit. It is valuable to easily identify protocols presenting transfer rates below the threshold of a given business unit.

It also monitors the receiving and the sending transfer rate of data in the last 5 min as well as the Min and Max transfer rates for each protocol.
