Define a calendar

The calendar feature is an advanced feature in Decision Insight. You need to purchase a license with the calendar option to use this feature.

Users of the Decision Insight applications need the Data modeling right to define Calendars. For more information about how to define user roles, see Managing rights.

Access to the Calendars screen

To modify existing Calendars or to create a new Calendar, click the Configuration   icon. On the left menu, click Calendars in the Model section.

The following table describes the elements of the Calendars screen.

Feature Description
Name The name of the calendar. All character types are authorized, including spaces.

A Calendar must be linked to one or more Entities. Each instance of these linked Entities will hold the Calendar Configuration.

For example:

  • It can be a singleton Entity if you need just one global Calendar
  • it can be a multiple instance Entity if you need a calendar per instance of Country for example

The linked entities cannot be changed after save.

For performance and volume reasons, we recommend to create calendars only on configuration entities.

Don't forget to absorb the calendar configuration for all instances.

Space The selected Space will hold the Calendar, the Period types and the Calendar configuration attributes.
Period types

You can add new period types by clicking the Add period type button.

At calendar creation a Default period type is created. This is a mandatory period type that cannot be modified.

Period types cannot be deleted after save, nor created from the data-integration.
