Node recovery

You can recover the data of a node provided you have previously backed up the data directory of the node. For more information about performing a backup, see the Backup page in the Axway Decision Insight documentation at https://docs.axway.com/category/analytics.

This operation must be performed on a stopped node.   

Clustered deployment

Tip: If you have a clustered primary/replica deployment, you only need to recover the data of the primary node (PN).  For the replica nodes (RN) in your cluster, you can safely delete all the elements in the data directory. The RNs will automatically re-download the data from the PN once you start the node again. 

Standard recovery 

  1. Make a file copy of the backup directory contents under the <install directory>/var/data/titanium-temporal directory of your node.
    Optionally, extract the backup file content if it was previously archived.
    You should have a node directory structure such as the following:

  2. Make sure you have no corrupted directory in all stores.
  3. Make a file copy of the backup directory content under the <install directory>/var/data/calcium directory of the node.
    Optionally, extract the backup file content if it was previously archived.
  4. Start the node using the provided run scripts under <install directory>/bin.

Recovery with Docker

  1. Start a temporary container with all the volumes from your node's container mounted on it. 

  2. Make a file copy  of the backup directory content under the /opt/adi/node/var/data/titanium-temporal directory of the node.
    Optionally, extract the backup file content if it was previously archived.
  3. Make sure that there is no corrupted directory in all stores.
  4. Make a file copy  of the backup directory content under the /opt/adi/node/var/data/calcium directory of the node.
    Optionally, extract the backup file content if it was previously archived.

    $ docker run --rm --tty --interactive --user adi-user --volumes-from=adi_XXXXXXXX-XX -v ~/backup:/backup axway/decisioninsight:XXXXXXXX-XX /bin/sh
    / # cp -R /backup/titanium-temporal /opt/adi/node/var/data/titanium-temporal
    / # cp -R /backup/calcium /opt/adi/node/var/data/calcium
    / # cd /opt/adi/node/var/data/
    / # tar -xzvf /backup/backup_decisioninsightXXXXXXXX-XX.tar.gz
    / # exit
  5. Restart the node by executing the docker start command on the container:

    $ docker start adi_XXXXXXXX-XX
    adi_XXXXXXXX-XX
