How to build URLs to access a dashboard from external tools

Introduction

Axway Decision Insight (DI) is a powerful product that can use a lot of data sources and remote systems to provide the best operational intelligence experience. DI is also often used as a cockpit for other monitoring application (See Cockpit node pattern).

In these cases, providing direct links to specific dashboards can be really useful.

To create direct links, you can rely on the Dashboard browsing URL format to build specific URLs that you will be able to use from other tools or other DI instances.

Examples

Payment search for clearing house in Paris and currency in USD using a key

Payment search with Clearing House set to Paris and Currency set to USD using key

https://localhost:8080/ui/default/dashboards/dashboard-00000002-0001-0000-13B0-86C528D00001?clearingHouseParam=Paris&currencyParam=USD

Payment search for clearing house in Paris and currency in USD using a UUID

Payment search with Clearing House set to Paris and Currency set to EUR using UUID

https://localhost:8080/ui/default/dashboards/dashboard-00000002-0001-0000-13B0-86C528D00001?clearingHouseParam=00000002-0001-0001-13a9-323b8ab01801&currencyParam=00000002-0001-0001-13a9-323b8ad02001

Payment details for dead payment

This example requires adjusting the URL with a valid payment UUID and a resolution time at which it was still alive.

Troubleshooting issues

If the parameter value is not set as expected, make sure that:

  • If the parameter value is a UUID:
    • The value is a valid UUID.
    • The corresponding instance is the same type as the parameter.
  • For an entity parameter:
    • If the parameter value is not a UUID, a simple key (with only 1 attribute) of type Integer or String is specified on the entity.
    • If the parameter value is a UUID, the corresponding instance was alive at the given resolution time.
    • The resolution time (if specified) has the correct format.
  • The parameter value doesn't contain a reserved character.
