A folder contains sub-folders and queries. If you have previously selected a folder or a query, default values are displayed in the fields.

  1. In the main screen, click .
  2. Accept default values or complete the following fields from the drop-down lists:
  3. Field Description

    Name

Name of the folder that must be unique for a given parent folder.

You can, however, use the same (sub)folder name in several parent folders.

    It must not contain:

    • ASCII characters lower than code 32
    • The ‘/’ character
    Parent

    • previously selected a query or a folder, it is displayed by default.
    • not selected a query or a folder, browse through the tree and select a folder.
    Category

    Mandatory

Category defined to group the folders.

If the combo is empty, folder categories must be defined in the Designer.

  4. Click OK.
  5. The new folder appears in the query tree structure in the Navigation panel.

To create sub-folders, select target folder and repeat steps as many times as necessary.

Edit a folder

To modify the folder properties, you must have either full rights or edit rights on the folder. If you change the parent folder, you must, however, have edit rights on both current and new parent folder.

  1. In the main screen, select folder and right-click to display the context menu.
  2. Select the Edit menu item.
The system displays the Folder screen.
  3. Modify the following fields as necessary:
    • Name - Folder name
    • Parent - Parent folder
    • Category - Category defined to group the folders
  4. Click OK.
If the Parent folder is modified, the folder is moved to the new location.

Delete a folder

Although you can see all the folders and queries, you must have the rights to delete them. If a folder can be suppressed but not all the queries inside that folder, an error message is displayed and the suppression is not possible.

  1. In the main screen, select the folder or sub-folder and right-click to display the context menu.
  2. Select the Remove menu item. The system prompts you to confirm the action.
  3. Click OK.
The folder or sub-folder disappears from the query tree structure in the Navigation panel.
