Add a new language

You can customize the Designer to use different languages. To add a new language:

  1. Add a new language in the Designer UI: Settings > Global settings > languages using a locale and a country code (for example: pt_PT for Portuguese, ru_RU for Russian, and so on).
  2. If the collections have not been deployed, deploy all the collections to the Repository. Otherwise, deploy Settings on default application.
  3. You can also add a flag representing the country language. To add a flag, copy a 16x16 pixel images in the directory:[Installation_Path]/Datastore/DatastoreClient/war/images/flags for Datastore.
  4. The image name must be same name as your new language.
  5. Add a new dictionary in the Designer UI: Dictionaries > create new dictionary. Call the new dictionary datastore and add the next messages:
  6. language.myLanguage.label=MyLanguage
  7. language.icon= myLanguage.png
  8. Deploy the dictionary datastore on the admin application.
  9. In the Repository console, execute the following command : exportComponentDictionaries -c datastore tempFolder.
  10. The available languages from the application are stored in the temp folder.
  11. Take one of the languages and change the folder name to myLanguage. Translate all messages to the new language.
  12. Execute the following command:
  13. openApplication admin
  14. importDictionaries tempFolder
  15. The tempFolder only holds the properties file translated above.
  16. 9. Restart the Web server and refresh the Datastore client.
  17. The new language is available.
