Use the Axway Desktop Client

You can use the Axway Desktop Client, a browser application, to safely access the Access and Security user interface.


  • Navigate to the pepflashplayer.dll file and make a copy. This file is located in, for example, <USERDIR>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\UserData\PepperFlash\<version>\pepflashplayer.dll.
  • From the Axway support site, search for and download the "Axway Desktop Client".

Configure the Axway Desktop Client

This section describes how to configure the Axway Desktop Client for use with Central Governance.

  1. Unzip the Client archive file.
  2. Open the <axway desktop client> directory>/resources/whitelist.json with a file editor, and set the following field values to determine which Central Governance installations are available for use with the Axway Desktop Client:

BlockUntrustWebsite No Allows users that are not administrators to use the Axway Desktop Client.
logFolderLocation "C:\\LOG_FOLDER\\" The full path to the folder where you want to store Axway Desktop Client logs.
cleanCookies false False is the default setting.
pluginLocation "C:\\FLASH_DLL_FOLDER\\" The full path to the file pepper flash.dll.

The name of the Central Governance installation you want to be able to connect to. You may define several.

Example: "title": "CG 101"

The URL for that corresponds to the name of the Central Governance installation (above). You may define several.

Set to true to use the Central Governance installation with the Client.

Install and use the Axway Desktop Client

  1. Execute axway-desktop-client.exe.
  2. Select the entry that corresponds with your Central Governance name as defined in the whitelist.json.
  3. Log on Central Governance from your normal browser. Click to view the following:
    • Access > Roles. Click on Roles to display the list of roles.
    • Access > Privileges. Click on Privileges to display the list of privileges.
    • If you have more than 50 roles or privileges, they are displayed on several pages.
