Troubleshoot B2Bi / PassPort interoperation

Problem 1

Problem: I need to change the PassPort connection settings in B2Bi, but I cannot open the B2Bi UI.

Cause: An element of the B2Bi / PassPort connection configuration is blocking B2Bi UI access.

Solution: Run the B2Bi Server installer in Configure mode:

  1. Start the B2Bi installer in Configure mode.
  2. On the Select components page, select all of the following components:
    • Integrator
    • Interchange
    • B2Bi
    • B2Bi Server
  3. Note: In the Select components page, you must select all of the products in the preceding list or the configuration update will fail.
  4. Page through the configuration pages. On the PassPort access management pages, set the PassPort access options as required:
    • Use PassPort AM
    • PassPort host
    • PassPort port
    • Shared secret
  5. Complete the configuration sequence.
  6. Restart B2Bi.

Problem 2

Problem: I have modified passportintegrationdefaults.xml, but nothing happens.

Cause: The passportintegrationdefaults.xml file stores the PassPort options that you entered at install time. On first startup of the trading engine, the PassPort options are loaded into the trading engine database ppi_configitems table. To modify this table after installation, run the B2Bi Server installer in configure mode.

Problem 3

Problem: I have updated an expired SSL certificate in PassPort and now I am unable to log into B2Bi. No Domain is displayed in the B2Bi login page.

Cause: To be able to log in to B2Bi, the SSL certificates must be changed and set to "trusted" in PassPort.

Solution:

Step 1 - Change the certificates in PassPort

  1. Log in to Passport as Passport administrator on https://passport-host:6453/ui.
  2. Go to Server Security Settings and change the following certificates:
    • Default_HTTPS
    • Default_HTTPS_Client_Auth
  3. Go to Security > Certificates and set the new certificates to "trusted".

Step 2 - Configure the B2Bi login

  1. Log as a user that has the default system administrator role. Use the URL: http://[hostname]:6080/ui/
  2. A domain selection list is displayed on the login page.
  3. Select your PassPort domain from the list. Use the user name and password that were communicated to you by an email from PassPort, or in the case of LDAP, use your standard network login.
  4. Select Processing configuration > Manage deployment server to open the Manage deployment server page.
  5. On this page, click the link Change default deployment server credentials.
  6. Set the following properties to match those of the PassPort user who has all privileges for the integration engine (Integrator) component:
    • Domain – (example default value) Synchrony
    • Username – (example value) admin
    • Password – (example default value) Secret01
  7. Click Save changes.
