Manage max user processes (Linux)

In some cases, in Linux environments you may receive an error of the type "OutOfMemoryError unable to create new native thread". This may be due to the machine setting for max user processes.

If you suspect this is the case, track the max user processes setting to ensure it is sufficient to handle the load on Activator.

The optimum setting for this value depends on your system configuration and trading requirements.

To check the current setting (example):

ulimit –a

max user processes (-u) 1024

In this example, the value of 1024 may not be sufficient, depending on the traffic. In that case, you should increase the value and test the results until the trading errors are resolved.
