AccountingIntegrator 2.2.1 Release Notes

New features and enhancements

New features specific to Rule Engine

Turbo mode

Rule Engine can now work in turbo mode to increase the performances by 10% to 15%. The Turbo mode is only available on z/OS and can only be used if all numbers are valid integers. Decimal numbers management is not supported.

Rule Engine license check

The license checks the number of running instances. Since the Rule Engine license is based on an authorized number of instances, the check is done each time a Rule Engine session is launched. If the maximum of parallel instances is reached, the session is not launched.

Rule Engine configuration managed by the AI Enabler

Most of the script.fic options are now managed in Composer by the AI Enabler. You can now configure the whole set of options through the Context-in definition using Composer.

This configuration is automatically taken into consideration by the deployment procedure. If you still want to use the script.fic definition, you can provide your settings in it.

Automatic generation of output files names

If an output name is not defined in the script.fic file regarding a given Context-out definition, Rule Engine generates automatically the output file name, using the Context-out name to define it.

New features specific to Rule Engine Server

Dynamic management of Rule Engine through the Rule Engine Server

The Rule Engine Server is a new optional component of AccountingIntegrator. It provides an online accounting transformation service by encapsulating and dynamically managing a set of AccountingIntegrator rule engines. Several Rule Engine Servers can listen to the same shared folder bringing additional scalability and robustness to the service.

The Rule Engine Server is available on Unix, Linux and Windows.

Repository manages the Rule Engine configuration

The Rule Engine Server gets the configuration from the repository. When using the Rule Engine Server, you need to store the Rule Engine configuration generated by Composer in the Repository.

You must store :

  • Global configuration
  • Incremental configuration
  • Internal tables configuration

Flow management with Event Processor

AccountingIntegrator now includes a new Event Processor module with the Rule Engine Server. The Event Processor listens to technical events and triggers actions based on rules.

  • Events can be triggered when files arrive in a folder, at a given scheduled time, on a REST call, or for each result of alternate triggered actions.
  • Actions could be, for instance, applying an accounting transformation on a file, moving a file to a folder, sending a REST event to a product.
  • Easy-to-define Rules are used to empower the data flow across the Accounting Integration products. They are created and deployed to the different components by using the Designer.

Sentinel notifications

If Rule Engine is managed by the Rule Engine Server, it generates notifications and uses the Infrastructure common mechanism for Sentinel.

You can still use the Rule Engine without the Rule Engine Server. In this case, Rule Engine behaves autonomously. This behavior is configured in Administration. The generated notifications monitor the following:

  • Configuration reset
  • Configuration deployment
  • Accounting transformation execution

Simulation tool

You can now test the configuration you have previously defined.

A predefined simulation configuration is delivered. This configuration uses the different possibilities of flow management with the Event Processor and provides a getStarted sample to help you configure the rules to manage your flows.

This simulation configuration implements the following Accounting Integration flow:

  • A test set is created in InterPlay then executed.
  • The data is transmitted to the Rule Engine Server that applies a selected transformation.
  • The rejected input events are imported into InterPlay for correction.
  • The generated output data is sent to InterPlay for consultation.
  • The audit traces are injected to Datastore to build the audit trail.

Components settings management in Administration

The components settings are managed by the administration tool, Administration. They may be static or dynamic, and are propagated to the components.

Designer configuration management

When you are connected to Designer, you can now switch from the configuration you are working on to another configuration.

You can:

  • load a configuration
  • switch to another configuration

You can also load predefined sample configurations to help you start a new configuration.

Sentinel connection

Mechanism that collects the generated Sentinel notifications from AccountingIntegrator and sends them to the proper Sentinel server.

Access Rule Engine features using REST calls

You can now access the Rule Engine features, like processing a file, getting the results of the transformation, checking the status of a transformation, using REST calls. You can hook up external systems to automatically call the Rule Engine processing feature.

Audit traces enhancement

The audit trace technical header is enriched with the information related to the rule that set the tracking of the data :

  • Aggregation rule name
  • Enrichment rule name
  • Transformation rule name + financial case Nb + output event Nb

End to End audit management

Rule Engine provides now audit traces for rejected events and transformation anomalies events.

If you use Datastore, you will find some branches where the end is a rejected event or an anomaly event.

These new audit traces are based on new audit letters.

Standardized log file

Rule Engine provides now standardized log messages inside a log file. These messages are provided by the configuration reset, configuration deployment and transformation session procedures.

Optimized output file generation

To avoid empty-file generation (when there is no output to generate in a given context-out), Rule Engine generates now the output files only when an output event is detected to be written.

Fixed issues

Missing files for the offline setup of the database

Offline database installation now works as expected. Refer to the "Perform post-installation tasks" section of the AccountingIntegrator Installation Guide for details.

Sending Business monitoring events fails

Business monitoring events can now be sent as expected.

Random behavior of the JMS Rule Engine

JMS Rule Engine now picks-up all the messages in the queue.

Known issues

There are no known issues in this version of AccountingIntegrator.
