What the Mapping tab shows

The Mapping tab (illustrated schematically below) comprises an icon bar and a main pane representing the type of Business-Document selected on the General tab.

How to use the output Business-Document pane

The output Business-Document pane is divided into three panels:

  • The left panel displays:
    • the generation condition that must be fulfilled for the mapping expressions to be executed.
    • the tree structure of the selected Business-Document.
  • The middle panel displays the Expression column where you define, modify, and view the mapping expressions that correspond to the nodes in the selected Business-Document.
  • The right panel displays the Comment column where you define, modify, and view a description of what the Expression field contains.

Complete the fields on the Mapping tab as follows.

Field Contents

Generation Condition

Use this field to define test criteria that must be fulfilled before AccountingIntegrator Rule Engine can generate the modified Input- or Output-Event.

If the condition returns the value True, AccountingIntegrator Rule Engine executes the Mapping Rules defined on this tab.

If you do not specify a condition, the software executes the expressions without running any test beforehand.

To define a condition:

  1. Drag-and-drop the Table and Variable objects you require for the expression from the Dictionary tab in the left pane.
  2. Enter the expression either:

Expression

For each field of the output Business-Document that you want to map, complete the Expression column either manually or using the DML Object Browser. The maximum length of this field is 1200 characters.

Click to expand the Expression field if required.

Drag-and-drop Variable or Table objects from the Dictionary view in the left pane or from the DML Object Browser directly into the Expression field.

Enter DML Functions and operators:

  • manually and, if necessary, with the help of the Syntax Editor
  • or, alternatively, drag-and-drop Functions from the DML Object Browser.

Comments

Comments make it easier for other users to understand how to manipulate the field and the Mapping-Template it is based on.

Enter a free-text description of the corresponding expression. You can enter up to 9000 characters.

Using the icon bar

Use the icon bar on the Mapping tab for the following actions:

Icon Function

Expand the Expression and Comments fields

Delete the selected mapping

Select all the mappings

Unselect all mappings

Make the selected mappings modifiable from the objects that use the Mapping-Template.

By default, all elements are modifiable.

The icon next to the selected field changes to blue (or yellow if you selected the generation condition).

Make the selected mappings non-modifiable from the objects that use the Mapping-Template.

The icon next to the selected field changes to red.

When you save an element that is non-modifiable, the mappings associated with that element are deleted from all the objects that use the Mapping-Template.

Automatically map the selected field(s) from the Business-Document on which the Mapping-Template is based, as defined in the General tab.
