About the DML

The DML (Data Manipulation Language) is the language that you use to define the mapping rules of the generated Output-Event and the condition criteria for performing specific actions. For example:

  • apply an Enrichment-Rule
  • use a Mapping-Template
  • execute a Financial-Case in a Transformation-Rule

In this documentation, these processing instructions are referred to as DML expressions. In Composer, you define a DML expression in an object.

The following table summarizes how you can use DML expressions in objects.

Object Use DML expressions to define a: Max characters (including spaces)

Output-Event

Pre-Calculation

Enrichment-Rule

  • Mapping Rule: the instructions that AccountingIntegrator Rule Engine uses to transform and map an input Business-Document to an output Business-Document used in these objects.
  • Generation condition that AccountingIntegrator Rule Engine uses to determine under what circumstances to create the object.

1200

Mapping-Template

Mapping expression to modify an input Business-Document field.

Financial-Case

Generation condition that AccountingIntegrator Rule Engine uses to determine under what circumstances to execute the Financial-Case.

Each language function is represented by a reserved word, an operator, or both together with one or more parameters depending on the syntax of the function. AccountingIntegrator Rule Engine verifies this syntax when you enter each phrase.

The DML includes the following set of building blocks that you use to write expressions in Composer:
