What is a Business-Field?

The Business-Field is an optional object that you can use to create a dictionary of fields used in the definition of the following:

  • Physical structure of a Table.
  • Business-Document segments, which in turn define the structure of the Input- and Output-Events.
Note: It is recommended that you avoid defining Business-Fields for use as Business-Document segments since the process carries a large overhead in terms of processing. For Business-Document fields that you use once or infrequently, create them directly in the Business-Document object itself.

AccountingIntegrator Enabler incorporates the notion of a functional role for each Business-Field.

The purpose of the Functional Role is to assign a label to the Business-Fields so that you can distinguish between them more easily. The Role is an object with a name and a label in the General tab. You cannot delete the Role if it is referenced in a Business-Document.

The Role serves only to facilitate parameter definition in the Composer and so is not exported to AccountingIntegrator Enabler Rule Engine.

The Functional Roles include the following:

  • Account
  • Amount
  • Direction

Object dependencies

When you define or import an object, it is stored in the metadata repository and is available for reuse by other objects. Typically, the objects that you define exist in a specific object hierarchy. That is, objects:

  • use objects below them in the hierarchy
  • are used by objects above them in the hierarchy

To help you manage the interlinked network of objects, the software provides the Object Dependencies Browser that displays the object dependencies for a selected object.

The following objects are used by Business-Fields:
