Upgrade the Axway Appliance Platform

This topic describes how to upgrade your Axway Appliance Platform from version 6.7.1 or later to version 7.1.2.

Caution   You must backup your system before proceeding with this upgrade. This upgrade results in significant changes to your appliance, and any significant upgrade poses a risk to your data.

Prerequisites

All appliances

These prerequisites apply to all appliances (physical and virtual):

  • This upgrade requires at least 10GB of disk space on your appliance.

Amazon Machine Image

This prerequisite applies to Amazon Machine Image (AMI) virtual appliances only:

  • Your appliance must have access to the Axway update repository.
  • You must ensure that your AMI instance is in the default AWS security group before running the upgrade, and return it to its regular AWS security group after the upgrade completes. If your instance is in an AWS security group that does not allow regular internet access, you must add the following rule to your AWS security group:
HTTP TCP 80 208.67.131.239/32
Caution   Upgrading on an AMI without access to the Axway update repository can damage your appliance. If you are unsure whether or not you have the correct access policy, contact Axway Support.
