Parameters, Data tables, Charts of accounts

Parameter

Each Parameter determines a value, that can take different types. A Parameter's value can be retrieved from a Data table. For instance, the Account Parameter might be associated with a Chart of Accounts. Parameters are created when importing the Rule Engine configuration or when importing sample data files.

The General tab

The General tab presents the following information about the Parameter object:

  • Code - The ID of the Parameter
  • Label - The name it will appear as in the UI (if left empty, Label=Code).
  • Domain - Choose from the list of existing domains.
  • Description - Enter more information about this Parameter to help your end-users.
  • Tags - Information to help your end-users find and understand this Parameter
  • Links, Attachments - Further reading for end-users to understand the Parameter

The Data tab

The Data tab presents the following information about the Parameter object:

  • Type - Parameter type among String, Date, Number, Boolean
  • Fraction digits (number type only): indicates how many digits a number displays after the decimal point, with a maximum of 8. To display 123 as 123.00 (or 123,00, depending on regional settings), specify: Fraction digits=2.
  • Facet - Select in the list: CURRENCY, ACCOUNT, AMOUNT, DIRECTION
  • Data table - Reference to a Data table storing possible values for the Parameter

Data table

Data tables provide lists of values to be used by other AI Suite Studio components, such as Parameters.

The General tab

The General tab presents the following information about the Data table object:

  • Code - The ID of the Data table
  • Label - The name it will appear as in the UI (if left empty, Label=Code).
  • Domain - Choose from the list of existing domains.
  • Description - Enter more information about this Data Table to help your end-users.
  • Tags - Information to help your end-users find and understand this Data table
  • Links, Attachments - Further reading for end-users to understand the Data table

The Data tab

The Data tab displays the data in table form. A Data table can for instance be used to store a list of Currencies including the currency’s code, symbol, label and number of decimals:

It is not possible to edit that data, only to import or re-import it. To do that, click Edit, then Import.

Searching Data tables or Charts of Accounts

Enter texts in the Search bar in the header of a Data Table or Chart of Accounts to retrieve the rows of that Table or Chart in which the text appears.

  • maximum length of search string: 200 characters
  • Unicode characters are supported
  • search is for the whole word, case insensitive. If you search for foo , the results will be among those:
    • Foo1
      not found
    • foo is my name
      found
    • xfoo
      not found
    • FOO
      found
  • use of wildcards: '*'
    • foo*bar
      will display data that contains words like foo + <something> + bar
    • *foo*
      will display data rows that contains words like <something> + foo + <something>
  • To remove the effects of the search, either :
    • remove search text with keyboard, then Enter, or
    • click on any other object (Data Table, Chart of accounts...) in the list to the left, or
    • click in the X at the end of the search area, then Enter

Charts of accounts

A Chart of accounts is the list of accounts most likely to be affected by the company's transactions. Its representation and interaction are similar to that of the Data table, described above. Typically, the Chart of accounts might include the following data relative to each account: ID, Type, Name, Parent Account, Currency, Description, Start Date, End Date.
