About global settings

The Axway Designer enables you to specify global settings for the AI Suite products:

  • General parameters
  • Importers
  • Space

InterPlay global settings

InterPlay global settings include a set of general configurable properties:

  • List of languages
  • Session timeout
  • Default date and dateTime format
  • Aggregation error properties
    Errors are grouped according to these properties and the number of error per group is shown in the statistic panel that is accessible from the Collection panel.
  • Template identifier
    Name of the property that must be used as identifier for the template libraries. Template libraries are standard Collections that contain reusable Objects. You can copy Objects into template libraries. When you create a new Object, you can select the template library and the template objects that have been copied. A Collection is recognized as a template library when its “TEMPLATE_LIB” property is set to ‘True’.
  • List of importers
    An importer defines the transformations and controls that must be applied when importing a CSV file.
  • CSV export configuration parameters
  • Level of Supervision

User interface global settings

The user interface global settings concerns general configuration for the InterPlay user interface:

  • Folders configuration
  • Toolbar items 
  • Custom and predefined actions
  • Miscellaneous settings:
    • Configuration of the error panel
    • Gaps between label and fields, between fields and so on.
    • Default values for the field attributes: color, height, font size, and so on.

Folder

Each folder is configured via the following elements:

  • Name
  • Filters on the Collections that are collected on the source. A filter is defined by a name and an expression on the Collection properties
  • Icons to display the opened folder, the closed folder, the filters
  • Columns that will be visible in the Collection Table
  • Actions that will be visible for the Collection List or in the Collection Editors

Toolbar items

The user interface contains 3 toolbars that are fully configurable:

  • Collection: Toolbar of the Business Collection List screen
  • Editor: Main toolbar of Business Collection content screen
  • Table: Toolbar above the Business Objects and Element table

You can define the:

  • Type of item (button, menu button, separator, stretch)
  • Order of the item
  • Attached action
  • Shortcuts information, if any

Custom actions

InterPlay enables you to implement new actions and integrate them into the toolbars. A custom actions is defined by:

  • A name
  • A description
  • An icon that will be used in the toolbar
  • Conditions for which the action is active:
    • Selection of Business Collections, Business Object or Element
    • Single selection, multi selection, any selection or no selection
  • Function calls that must be executed when the action is triggered
  • A list of Collection and Object Lifecycle statuses for which the action is active
  • A choice to prompt the user to save his work
  • A choice to prompt the user for confirmation

Predefined actions

InterPlay enables you to configure existing actions and integrate them into the toolbars. A predefined action is defined by:

  • A name
  • A description
  • An icon that will be used in the toolbar
  • A list of Collection and Object lifecycle statuses for which the action is active
  • The scope of the action indicating if the action applies to collections, objects, elements or all.

Datastore global settings

Datastore global settings include a set of general configurable properties:

  • Tags
    List of Tags that can be used in the Object Type. A Tag helps to classify the objects in a functional way, in order to ease -query configuration.
  • Folder categories
    List of categories for the Datastore Query folders. A Folder category helps to classify the folders in Datastore Client, in order to store the available queries.
  • List of Spaces
    A Space defines a container inside the Datastore that stores data for a subset of the Object Types. The storage organization inside a Space is different if the Space is editable, the data can be modified after import or not. A Space is divided into partitions. The partition criterion is time. It can be set to one day or can be defined using a Period table. Only one period table can be defined.
  • Period table
    Object Type that defines the reference Period Table.
